The 2014 Yamaha XT1200ZE Super Tenere: Equipped with electronic suspensions
Yamaha launches electronic suspensions and the bike which was chosen for that purpose was the XT 1200 ZE, where the letter E hints the ... electronic suspensions. The competition at the adventure bike category is rather fierce making this and the superbikes, the two most sophisticated categories in terms of electronics.
In the case of the XT 1200ZE Super Tenere, the electronically adjustable suspensions provide 190 mm (7.48 in) of wheel travel front and rear. A 43 mm fork is equipped at the front and a monoshock at the rear which are fully adjustable. A maximum combination of 84 settings should be adequate for any use.
Together with the current traction control, a cruise control, a new LCD screen and two more mappings are the new features for 2014. The two-cylinder 1199 cc engine delivers 112PS @ 7,250 rpm and 11.9 kg-m @ 6,000 rpm ((86 ft lbs) torque, claimed figures. The wet weight is 265 kg (584 lbs), some 8 kg (17.6 lbs) more than the base model.
