The Italian company which was founded in 1997, has now been sold to the Chinese hedge fund SK Sports, based in Hong Kong. The production lines of the low and mid-range cost helmets will probably move to Indonesia, while the top of the range helmets will still be produced in Italy. 
The headquarters (R&D, marketing and sales departments) will remain in Italy. World Champions like Max Biaggi, Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss have been wearing Suomy helmets.
