Britons ready to drive on the right.(Happy April Fool's day!)
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Transportation of Great Britain, studies have been completed and the date will soon be decided concerning change to which side of the road to drive on. Britons are going to switch from driving to the left side of the road to the right side. The cause seems to be road safety, according to the AA and Think.
Çarmonization with the European Union seems necessary as many Britons drive in Europe for their holidays and vice versa, Europeans visiting the United Kingdom.
The measure is expected to be valid in about a year, simultaneously in Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland. It will be given one week time to change the road markings-signs.
Gradually a subsidized modification will be performed at the controls of the car.
The estimated average net cost for each car owner is £ 200.
On motorcycles, the cost for the necessary light beam adjustment will be much lower, about £20, paid entirely by the owner though.
