Mission RS and Mission R: The road versions of the Mission R, the racing electric superbike
The Mission R is the winner of the 2011 TTXGP race at Laguna Seca, equivalent of supersport lap times on a track. Ôhe oncoming RS version of the bike will be equipped with a headlamp, taillight, mirrors. The electric motor power output is equivalent to 160 bhp while the torque is 16.6 kgm - 120 (ft lbs) ! right from zero speed.
The 17 KWh battery pack is adequate for 225 km (140 mi) real world – nominal range, charging time is about 2 hours on industrial type charging stations. 0-100 km/h (0-60mi) acceleration in less than 3 seconds, while the top speed is 241 km/h (150 mph).
The bike will be equipped with Trellis frame, carbon wheels, Ohlins WSBK spec suspension, racing Brembo brakes, traction control, MissionOS hardware-software package (seven inch display, GPS, Google maps, telemetry, etc,) and a camera attached to the nose.
There will be a limited production number of 40 bikes.
Of course the Mission RS ¤46200 - $600000 price tag is an issue, which makes the ¤23100 - $30000 oncoming Mission R variant a more sensible option for normal road riders. The Mission R will be equipped with ordinary Ohlins suspensions, Brembo brakes and alloy wheels.
The bikes are expected to be launched in 2014.
