Steel-made Vespas LX 125 are expensive in India. What about a new plastic variant?
Vespa sales figures in India are not as high as initially expected due to the price compared to the competition. A reason to that is the steel monocoque body which increases substantially the manufacturing cost.
A cheaper and lighter alternative could be a reinforced plastic body which could be supported by a light frame. The two variants may co-exist in the range, in countries where price is more important than the Vespa tradition.
