Sic Supermoto Day, 2012/12/2, the race.
The race Sic Supermoto Day is conducted today, in memoriam of Marco Simoncelli at the Sagittario track, in Latina – Lazio (Italy).
The duration is 58 laps in order to commemorate Simoncelli¢s number.
Thus it will be an endurance race, with two riders alternating for each team, where one of them is a Supermoto racer.
The aim of the event is to raise funds for the Marco Simoncelli charity institute.
There are great riders participating such as Valentino Rossi, Max Biaggi, Andrea Dovizioso, Karel Abraham, Luca Cadalora, Thierry Van Den Bosch, Boris Chambon. Of course the majority of the riders are Italians.
As it can be seen from the brochure, the qualifying practice was yesterday where the pair Rossi-Van Den Bosch was ninth fastest.
The race is today with many happenings for the spectators.
Andrea Dovizioso with his team mate Mauno Hermunen won the Sic Supermoto day race 2012. Winstanley Matt and Cristian Iddon finished second, while the teammates …Valentino Rossi-Thierry Van Den Bosch finished third.

As Biaggi retires from racing and Rossi¢s got just moderate results in the last two years, a step towards this direction is the least for these riders to do. By the way, there were about 5000 spectators attending the event, raising some ¤90000.
