The Ducati 1199 Panigale was elected Bike of the Year for 2012 by SWA.
Since her introduction in 2011, the Ducati Panigale has gained the admiration of the motorcycle world and the respect of riders and journalists.
For 2012 the Ducati Panigale was nominated the title of the Bike of the Year by the SWA (Supertest World Association) which consists of journalists from 11 countries.
There are three points for the favorite bike, two for the second best and one point for the third nominee, by each participating country.
For 2012 the Panigale got 20 points, the Honda NC700 C/X 10 points and the Aprilia RSV4 APRC and Ktm Duke 690 got five points each at the third place.
In 2011 the winner was the Bmw K 1600 GT/GTL, while in 2010 there was another Bmw, the S1000RR! The Aprilia RSV4 Factory was the winner in 2009 and the Ducati 1098 in 2008. The Panigale R version is shown at the photos and the video above.
