Ducati will introduce three new models built around an 820cc platform at the 2012 EICMAshow, reports French site Moto-Station.
Moto-Station reports the three new models will be a Multistrada 820, a Hypermotard 820and an as-yet unnamed roadster. Over the last couple of months, spy photos of a new mid-sized Ducati model has been making the rounds, with many people claiming it will be a new liquid-cooled Hypermotard while others,  believe the new model would be a Multistrada. If the new report is true then they may both be right.
Previous reports believed the new mystery model(s) would use Ducati¢s 848 engine but Moto-Station claims it will be an all-new 820cc 90-degree V-Twin powerplant producing 113 hp (115 hp in metric) and 66 ft-lb (9.1 kgm).

A new Multistrada 820 would be a smaller version of the recently-updated Multistrada 1200 that would compete against models such as the Triumph Tiger 800 and BMW F800GS. Like its larger sibling, the Multistrada 820 would have some off-road pretensions but will mostly be a road-oriented machine.
A Hypermotard 820 would almost certainly replace the Hypermotard 796, but also possibly the 1100EVO version as well. Unlike the existing Hypermotard models, the new model will be liquid-cooled to meet new, and future, emission control standards.
As for the third model, Moto-Station reports it would not be a new Monster and would feature aggressive lines like the Streetfighter family. It remains to be seen how Ducati would slot this new model between its two existing naked streetbike lines. We expect to learn more about the new Ducati models in the weeks to come before their expected debut Nov. 12 at Ducati¢s traditional pre-EICMA presentation.
