KTM Duke 125 : Mass production of sport motorcycles...
It will be manufactured by Bajaj, an Indian company. It will be available from spring 2011. Price will be close to 4000Ī, as the parts needed for the manufacture will be from emerging markets, the assembly in India.
ItĒs a street motorcycle, dimensions are increased for the standards of the 125 c.c. category and the design is apparently KTM.
The liquid cooled, single cylinder, injection fed, four valves engine of 124.7 c.c. capacity, providing 15 bhp. There will be a capacity increase kit or a separate version of 200 c.c., providing 24 bhp. The 125 c.c. version is believed to be frugal in fuel consumption, top speed is 120 Km/h. An electronically restricted version of 100 Km/h for countries that certain license laws are valid will be available.
Trellis frame is used, the wheelbase is 1350 mm, rake 25°, trail 100 mm.
There will be more versions to follow, sharing the engine or frame, resulting in street, motard or enduro bikes. It is believed that a Duke 250 is the next to come.
