Kawasaki ZX 130 (2009-current): n integrated suggestion, almost.

his moped is very similar to Modenas X-cite 135 which has also been reviewed.

     Engine:
The single cylinder, semi automatic , air cooled engine of 130.3 c.c., fed via a carburetor, is very linear from the low end of the power band. The short gearing improves that, enabling the getaway, rider only, on a level road  with initially second gear engaged. On the display there is an indication of the selected gear at the gearbox, and an rpm meter. Rider feels like the low end of the power band during acceleration the 3700 rpm area, since there is an rpm meter rider will notice that. However there is not real meaning in this as a number. Power delivery is smooth and constant without hiccups or bursts, engaging 4th gear, 130 Km/h or even higher speed, will be indicated at 8000 rpm.
From one point of view, this engine is the most integrated in the category. It delivers more than adequate torque and remarkable power at the top and its adequate for the majority of riders. However in high speed riding, fuel consumption is increased.
he engine at the bike tested had run for more than 17000 Km, thus brake in is considered to be completed. Maximum power output is 11 bhp at 7750 rpm, torque 10.7 Nm at 5500 rpm, nominal values.

Riding position: Physical dimensions as the rider perceives them are minimal. The seat height is low as well as the width is. The weight feels little and centre of gravity really low, which result in a very user friendly bike. It is easily controllable even by very low riders and at the same time its not tiring to tall riders. The width of the bike is narrow, except from the front, where the leg shield is kind of wide, without bothering though. Due to the little height of the seat, rider is positioned really low, rather in and on the ZX, riding position is neutral and comfortable.
On the road: Steering lock is massive really, superb, allowing really tight steering radius and comfort on congested traffic rides. It will take advantage of the smallest traffic gap, filtering is as easy as possible. Suspension is soft, which makes it a really comfortable and agile bike, yet firm enough in town.
Due to the above on town rides its superb, road imperfections are adequately absorbed. Rider will perform rides to work or leisure, comfortably. Suspension could be of a higher class, however in or out of town it will accomplish the task.
On low friction B roads, feedback to the rider and riding quality is average. At a faster pace, rider will not get the confidence needed from suspension. However , charging, some feedback will eventually find its way to the rider by the twin shocks at the rear. The rear wheel will tend to slide eventually, while the front end will provide more confidence. Despite the average feedback, handling is neutral and naturally agile.
On high quality high friction roads, riding is superb, although when the pace gets fast, again feedback is just adequate.
On roads featuring many imperfections, the ZX will highly absorb them, providing once again comfortable rides.
On soil roads, the ZX is really comfortable.
On low friction B roads, the front disc brake is adequately powerful while provides average feedback. The rear drum brake is relatively weak. On high friction roads, the combination of the front and rear brake will be needed for powerful braking.

Comments: The fuel cap is located at the front, above the headlight, it is unlocked by turning the key at the ignition switch. There is an antitheft cap on the lock, while the equipment list is full by including also indication of gear selected, rpm meter and large storage space divided in two, under the seat. An open helmet will be fitted at the front  section, a rain coat and paper work at the rear.
Future rider will not be bothered by extreme handling as described above. Nevertheless due to the willing of the manufacturer to produce ultra sport bikes at the supersport and superbike categories and because of the few young riders who will perceive the ZX like their first ninja due to the ZX name and the design, this is the reason that data like this is provided. Certainly it would be easy for Kawasaki to produce such a bike, although the most noticeable advantage would be lost: the user friendly and ride on every terrene character. On the contrary its a distinguished offspring of Max and Kaze R dynasty.
There are two versions available, sporty and trendy which differ only to the rims equipped, price variation is about 100.
